In my previous post, How to make money online in Kenya Affiliate Marketing, one of my valued readers commented saying:
“Kenyans are waiting to see others who have actually made it in the Internet sector so that they can dare to venture there. Maybe you should tell people the amounts of money you’re making for encouragement.”
I also read a startling fact today that 90 % of all new millionaires are internet millionaires. If you are a serious person, that should get your head ticking. Anyway, that was not our main point today.
When this guy asked me to encourage Kenyans by providing a monetary value, I decided to share with you all my fellow Kenyans the amount I made on that same day (what a coincidence).
Although I did reply to his comment right there on that post, I ‘ll repeat it nevertheless in this post. So here we go.
The day was June 16th 2010. First, I made $180 in less than 24 hours freelancing on freelancer.com. The project required me to write 6 articles and spin them using an online spinning system that I have frequently used for my search engine optimization tasks.
The project outsourcing company, an SEO company based in the UK, agreed to pay me $30 for each article. So, I went ahead to undertake the task. I wrote the 500 words articles at night and I was through by 11.50 p.m. after four hours of writing. That was on 15th of June
Then yesterday in the morning, I logged on to the internet, spun the 6 articles in about 6 hours and I was through by 2 p.m.
That done, I had made $180. I sipped a “one for the road” and went back to mind my own business. I posted an article on my other make money online blog, hanged out on some webmaster forums online, and at around 6 p.m, I checked my email.
I was ecstatic when I read a message notifying me that I had made two referrals to an affiliate program that earns me $20 per referral. That’s an extra $40.
What did I make in total on 16th June?
$180+$40=$220 all in less than 24 hours.
Yet I’m your fellow Kenyan. You probably know me, but I hope you are inspired that you can really make money online in Kenya.

You certainly can make money online, but it requires a lot of work and I suspect most people won’t stick with it long enough to make a full-time income.

I commend your effort/hardwork resulting to your success online and note that it requires a lot of hardwork and perseverance to succeed online, quite contrary to the expectation of most new entrants into internet marketing

Just like anything worthwhile in life, it takes time and dedication to make money online. There is a learning curve involved. Most people who enter the online business fail because they see it as a way to make a lot of money fast. But that’s not true at all.

Your story of making money online should serve as an inspiration to those who still believe that money grows on trees. No, money does not grow on trees. You have to work for it to earn it and get in legal way.
